1st Simulation Ride for Bike for Kids :)

40.88 kms in 2 1/2 hours😝  ....means a lot to a newbie biker like me hehe 

Thanks to my official trainer, my idol & friend, the founder of Cancer Warriors Foundation, and a fellow Cancer Survivor James Auste hehe 

Call time was 6-6:15am infront of the Church at the Mall of Asia compound. 

I was intimidated at first. The goal was to bike from MOA to Luneta and Back or approximately 14 kilometers.

Warm up is a 10-kilometer ride from our house located in Sucat, Parañaque to MOA. 

When we arrived Luneta though, I feel more confident that's why we decided to go straight to Intramuros. Adding several kilometers more.

We made a U-Turn at the Manila Cathedral which was just a few meters away :-) 

And then we're back after 2 1/2 hours.

Feast of the Divine Mercy 2015

It's my 10th year to attend the feast day mass at the Divine Mercy the National Shrine located in Marilao, Bulacan. 

10 years ago, I went there for the first time and it was several weeks after I got discharged from the hospital - after my successful total thyroidectomy - a procedure that surgically removes my entire thyroid organ with malignant cancer tumor.

Honestly, I was a bit emotional during the entire mass, I recall, how I cried while I was trying to sing the Lord's prayer. I still haven't recovered my voice at that time and I was going through early stages of depression.

I recall my prayer at that moment: I asked for the gift of healing and complete recovery....for God to help me get up and go back to my normal life. I sincerely asked forgiveness for my sins - those that I've committed and likewise those that I failed to do.

I also made a promise - that I will serve him by helping other people esp my fellow patients who are stil fighting the big C. Thank God everything fell into its right place. 

Just to share what the priest said in his homily:

"God heals us, so that we too can help him heal others"

Again, thank you so much Lord for the 10 awesome years! Looking forward to the next 10! 😇🙏

Happy 4th Baby Mariel! 😘

One of the things that I've learned to accept when my doctor said I have cancer, was the fact that I may no longer have or experience certain things in life which means a lot to me....a couple of which are- to marry the love of my life and to have a family of my own.

Well, exactly 4 years ago today, in a chapel built on top of a hill in Tagaytay, on a cold & breezy day, I've made the longest sentence I've formed with just two words- I DO :-)

One of my key learnings: Never ever under estimate the power of God!!!

Good Friday 2015

Today, Good Friday, I posted this on my Facebook wall....

Whenever I experience any sort of physical pain, I always offer it to Jesus - sort of my way of participating in his sufferings. And whenever I do that, my pain tolerance shoots up!....probably because I am reminded about the pain the He had to endure which is far greater than mine and the reason is- because He Loves us so much!

Thank you Jesus & thank you Heavenly Father for loving me and for blessing me more than I deserve! 😇🙏

I'm back!!!

Yes!!! Thank God I was finally able to figure a way to retrieve my email and blogger user access...and so I'm back!!!😁👍

It's been almost 4 years since my last entry and a lot has happened already. 

This is a special year for me since I am celebrating my 10th year as a cancer survivor! 

Over the last 4 years, God gave me opportunities I thought I would never have: I was able to marry Mariel- my beautiful wife....be with my kids Denise Kassandra and Ethan Cyrus....having been blessed with another angel - Daniel Joseph - who just turned 2 last February 9.....to name a few. 

Truly, I have a LOT to be thankful for.

Thank you Lord for everything! 😇🙏

I'm Alive!

I'm back! It's been a while since my last entry. A lot of things happened already. I'm now married. I've a new job in a new company.

I guess God really wants me to continue to document a lot of things....especially those related to my ordeal with the big C.

So far, I have one thing I'm worried about........my mood swings. I must admit, no matter how hard I try to control it, it just can't be :-(

God please give me the grace of patience please!
